Good morning, Bengaluru.☕
37°C today, the kind of heat that shows up early. You’re here before it gets worse. Here’s what matters.
Public Holiday - All of India
Ambedkar Jayanti marks the birth of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar (1891), architect of the Indian Constitution and a champion of social justice. It’s a nationwide holiday, so banks, courts, schools, and government offices are closed.
In Bengaluru, expect lighter traffic across major corridors, while markets, malls, restaurants, and Namma Metro run as usual. If you have errands involving banks or government services, plan them for tomorrow.

Bengaluru Tests Passport-Free Airport Journey

On April 9, Kempegowda International Airport completed India's first-ever contactless international travel trial, with IndiGo, Digi Yatra Foundation, and IATA. Passengers moved through check-in, security, and boarding on the Bengaluru–Doha route using only facial recognition. No physical documents. No repeated checks. Just your face as a digital passport.
Bengaluru is currently the only Indian airport in IATA's global "One ID" proof-of-concept, alongside major hubs in Europe and Asia-Pacific.
What it means Shorter queues, faster boarding, no fumbling for docs
Who did it BIAL + IndiGo + Digi Yatra + IATA

🧠 Local Intelligence, For New Bengalureans
If you’ve just moved to Bengaluru, today is a rare “easy city” day. With Vishu and Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti, schools are closed, many offices are on optional WFH, and roads are noticeably lighter.
Commuting is smoother: Peenya flyover is open, while Banaswadi diversion continues till tomorrow 8 AM, use Horamavu Junction → 100 Feet Road → Vemanna Junction. Essentials like petrol pumps, malls, supermarkets, and clinics are open. Banks and government offices are shut.
Here’s the insight: Bengaluru is many cultures layered together. April alone has multiple festivals. 👉 Start simple: try a Sadya meal today.
