This week, attention is on RV Road. Designers studying Bengaluru’s civic problems recently used the Jayanagar Metro corridor to explore better last-mile movement and possible uses for neglected spaces beneath elevated transit infrastructure.
The ideas were presented at the Living City: Mapping New Ideas exhibition on September 26.
It raises a very Jayanagar question: how do you modernise without losing the neighbourhood underneath?

Some Bengaluru residents are turning living rooms, terraces and apartment community spaces into intimate cultural venues.
A recent baithak-style gathering at Adarsh Palm Retreat brought around 135 people together for an evening of ghazals and live music, with the audience sitting unusually close to the performers.
These gatherings are deliberately smaller and more personal than conventional auditorium shows. Residents say the format brings back the feeling of old terrace evenings while giving neighbours a reason to actually meet each other beyond lifts, parking lots and WhatsApp groups.
