1.11 Lakh Bengaluru Homes Could See a Big Property Change

The Karnataka Assembly has passed the BDA Amendment Bill, 2026, cutting applicable allotment charges by 50% for certain unauthorised occupants of BDA-acquired land.
The government estimates around 1,11,560 houses are involved. Eligible occupants get two years to obtain allotment before eviction powers can apply. The Bill also raises the BDA Commissioner’s financial sanctioning limit from ₹50 lakh to ₹5 crore, aimed at speeding repairs and maintenance.
