529 Children Brought to Safety

On Saturday, Bengaluru Police and labour inspectors conducted surprise inspections at 6,076 establishments across the city as part of a major operation against child labour.
The teams rescued 529 children and registered 105 cases against employers under child-labour and juvenile-justice laws.
The operation took children out of illegal workplaces, but rescue is only the first step. Rehabilitation, education and continued monitoring will determine what comes next. Read the full report.

Metro Minute: Four new six-coach trainsets have reached Bengaluru for the Purple and Green Lines, with safety clearance secured for their progressive introduction.
