Good morning, Bengaluru ☀️
Bengaluru has an unusual city problem: the fight for space is not just on roads anymore. With millions of vehicles navigating limited public space, even a simple “I’ll park here for five minutes” has become a daily negotiation.
Today’s city conversation is about changing that equation.

The Big Bengaluru Update
Bengaluru may finally put a price on parking
Parking on Bengaluru’s roads could soon become more organised - and possibly more expensive.
The Greater Bengaluru Authority has proposed the Greater Bengaluru Area (Parking) Rules, 2026, introducing parking permits and paid parking systems across the city.
The draft proposal suggests annual residential parking charges of up to ₹25,000 for SUVs, while on-street parking charges could vary depending on location. The goal is to reduce random roadside parking and improve road movement. Read More
The bigger debate: should Bengaluru build more parking infrastructure before charging residents?
Startup Watch
Bengaluru startup takes space traffic seriously
Bengaluru-based space-tech company Digantara has launched MOSAIC, an AI-powered optical sensor network designed to track satellites and space debris in low Earth orbit.
The system aims to improve India’s ability to monitor objects moving around Earth and support safer satellite operations as space becomes increasingly crowded.
It is a very Bengaluru problem-solving style: taking a complicated global challenge and building the technology from right here.
