Varthur is where old village roads, huge apartment complexes and Bengaluru’s tech growth all collide.
This week, residents of Varthur, Gunjur and Panathur wrote to the Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister asking for intervention on the heavily used SH-35 corridor. They flagged congestion, damaged roads, dust, missing footpaths and unsafe pedestrian conditions while the proposed Varthur elevated corridor remains stalled.
For people living and working here, this isn’t just another infrastructure issue. It’s part of the daily commute.

Bengaluru Gave Its Parks a Sunday

Some Bengaluru residents spent their Sunday doing something simple but useful: taking care of the parks around them.
The #IamBengaluru – Volunteer for Parks drive saw 200+ volunteers at a BDA park in Banashankari 6th Stage, with activities across 14 locations in the city. Students and citizen groups joined plogging drives, clean-ups and waste-awareness sessions.
Nothing flashy, just people giving a few hours to make their neighbourhood a little better. Bengaluru could use more Sundays like this.

One BMTC habit saves newcomers a surprising amount of confusion: learn your bus-stop name, not just your neighbourhood name.
“Whitefield”, “HSR” or “Electronic City” can cover a huge area. Conductors and regular commuters will usually understand the exact stop much faster.
Use the official Namma BMTC app to check nearby stops, routes and live buses. Save the stops nearest home and work.
